VCI (vapour corrosion inhibitor) paper, UK manufactured for industrial packaging of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Inhibitor-impregnated kraft base, salt spray tested. Roll widths to spec, 10,000 sheets MOQ. Standard MultiMetal, ferrous-only or non-ferrous-only chemistries on request.
Why Choose This Product?
The reasons brands and packers pick this grade
Active corrosion inhibitor
Vapour-phase inhibitor active across the wrapped volume - protects faces the paper does not touch directly.
Ferrous or multi-metal grades
Single-metal and multi-metal VCI specs - matched to the alloys being protected.
Reels, sheets, die-cuts
Cut to your packing line, including die-cut shapes for component-specific wraps.
Direct from a UK converter
UK-stocked grades cut import lead time and tariff risk for industrial users.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about this product
What is VCI paper?
VCI paper (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor paper) is kraft paper impregnated with chemical inhibitors that release vapours forming a protective molecular layer on metal surfaces. The layer blocks oxygen, moisture and airborne contaminants from causing corrosion during storage and transit. Unlike oils, VCI paper leaves no residue — components are clean and ready to use immediately on unwrapping.
Does VCI paper actually work?
Yes — VCI paper is the standard corrosion-protection method for metal components in transit and storage across automotive, aerospace, defence and engineering supply chains. Effectiveness depends on three factors: correct VCI chemistry for the metal type, adequate enclosure to maintain inhibitor vapour concentration, and storage duration within the inhibitor's effective window (typically 12–24 months).
How do I use VCI paper?
Wrap the component or interleave between layers. The inhibitor needs an enclosed space — an open warehouse won't maintain effective vapour concentration. For best results: (1) component should be clean and dry, (2) wrap completely with the VCI side facing the metal, (3) use sufficient paper area for the air volume, and (4) seal the package against air infiltration.
What's the difference between ferrous and multi-metal VCI paper?
Ferrous-only VCI paper protects steel, cast iron, and ferrous alloys — the chemistry is optimised for these metals at lower cost. Multi-metal VCI paper protects ferrous metals plus copper, brass (up to 20% Zn), bronze and other non-ferrous metals — broader-spectrum chemistry, slightly higher cost. Choose multi-metal if your shipment contains mixed metallurgy or if you're not certain about every component's composition.
How does VCI paper compare to rust-prevent oil?
VCI paper is typically £0.30–0.80 per m² with no cleaning required before component use. Rust-prevent oils cost £2–4/m² applied plus £3–8 per part for cleaning before use. For a manufacturer shipping 10,000 parts annually, switching to VCI paper typically generates £15,000–40,000 in direct savings plus reduced customer complaints from oil residue.
