Material selection
Choosing the right paper for the food
The right branded food packaging paper depends on the product being packed. Greaseproof paper is the workhorse for burgers, pastries, tray liners and food-to-go wraps where grease resistance is the priority. Waxed paper provides a different moisture barrier and tactile feel, often the right call for deli, bakery, burger and counter applications. PE-coated paper handles wet or chilled foods such as fish, meat and cheese where a stronger moisture barrier is required.
The material should be selected around the food type, grease level, moisture level, temperature, handling, print requirement and end-of-life expectations. We help work that out during the specification conversation.
