Paper Sheeting

Sheeting is one of the most useful conversion services for trade supply. It takes paper from reel format and cuts it into sheets that are easier to pack, handle, resell, dispense or use on a production line.

We can sheet paper we manufacture in-house and, where suitable, provide contract sheeting for customer-supplied stock.

What is paper sheeting?

Paper sheeting is the process of cutting paper from a reel into individual sheets. The finished sheets can be produced to the dimensions, packing format and quantity required for the intended application.

For packaging, sheeting is used when a customer needs flat stock rather than a reel. This might be for food wrapping, bakery liners, tray liners, deli sheets, butcher sheets, fish papers, retail tissue, interleaving, box lining, protective papers or industrial components.

Why sheeting is useful

Sheeting helps turn bulk paper stock into a finished, usable product. It can improve handling, reduce waste, simplify packing and create a product that is ready for resale or direct use. For merchants and resellers, custom sheeted paper allows you to offer product formats that standard stockists may not carry. For manufacturers, it can remove an internal cutting step and ensure paper arrives ready for the production process.

Custom sizes and packing formats

Sheet sizes can be specified around your customer’s use case. A bakery may need cake-board liners, a foodservice distributor may need tray liner sizes, a deli supplier may need counter sheets, and an industrial customer may need interleaving sheets cut to match a component or reel width.

Packing can also be considered at quote stage. Depending on the product, sheets may be supplied in counted bundles, reams, wrapped packs, cartons, pallets or customer-specific packing formats.

Sheeting and printing

Sheeting can be combined with flexographic printing to create custom printed sheets. This is useful for branded greaseproof paper, printed burger wrap, sandwich paper, tray liners, tissue paper, gift wrap and other packaging papers where the artwork needs to appear consistently on each sheet. For registered designs, sheet size and print repeat need to be planned together.
