What is interleaving paper?
Interleaving paper is a sheet placed between layers of stacked product to prevent sticking, contamination, transfer or pressure damage. Common interleaving substrates are greaseproof paper (food, no coating), silicone-coated greaseproof (release applications), and waxed kraft (moisture barrier). The right substrate depends on what's being interleaved and what you're trying to prevent.
What is silicone-coated interleaving paper used for?
Silicone-coated interleaving paper is used where the interleaving sheet needs to release cleanly from the product without transferring fibres or coating residue. Common applications: bacon, deli sliced meats, frozen burger patties, adhesive tape interleaving, gasket interleaving, and any application where the next process needs the product to lift off cleanly.
Can interleaving paper be food safe?
Yes. Food-grade interleaving paper complies with EC 1935/2004 (UK retained law) for food-contact materials. We supply migration test reports and declarations of compliance. The substrate (greaseproof or silicone-coated greaseproof) and any printing inks must be food-contact rated — we use EuPIA-compliant inks throughout.
What sizes of interleaving paper do you produce?
We cut interleaving paper to any specification on our high-speed sheeting line and programmable guillotine. Standard sheet sizes for food applications are around 200×200 mm to 400×400 mm; for industrial applications sheet sizes match the product being interleaved. Reel form is also available, slit to your required width from 50 mm upwards.
What is the minimum order for interleaving paper?
Stock greaseproof and waxed-kraft interleaving paper has no minimum. Custom-cut sheets at 50,000 units; custom silicone-coated grades from 1 tonne. Die-cut interleaving shapes (discs, rings, custom geometries up to 500mm) from 50,000 units.
