Jonathan Howitt

Jonathan Howitt is Sales Director at Grantham Manufacturing Limited. Prior to joining the company full-time in 2012, he successfully operated a local estate agency franchise between 2007 and 2012 before selling the business and joining Grantham Manufacturing as Sales Manager.

Having worked within the business from an early age during school holidays and university breaks, Jonathan developed hands-on experience across the production environment, including operating wax coating machinery, production equipment, and finished goods handling systems. Since joining the company full-time, he has built more than 14 years of practical manufacturing experience, with extensive knowledge of production processes, machinery operation, packaging materials, and converting technologies.

In 2017, Jonathan moved into a more technically focused leadership role overseeing manufacturing operations, machinery performance, process optimisation, and production capabilities, before being appointed Director in 2019.

Combining his commercial background with detailed technical expertise in flexographic printing, wax coating, paper sheeting (including specialised cut-to-register sheeting) and paper slitting and rewinding, Jonathan works closely with customers to develop packaging concepts into commercially viable, production-ready solutions. He advises on structural design feasibility, artwork positioning, material selection, print compatibility, barrier coatings, and finishing specifications to ensure products meet both brand objectives and manufacturing performance requirements.

Jonathan also leads equipment maintenance planning, operational efficiency improvements, production workflow development, and new product implementation across the business. In addition, he oversees HR and supports ongoing investment in manufacturing capability, process improvement, and customer-focused innovation.
